Population Genetics of the Mosquito Aedes triseriatus: Genetic-Ecological Correlation at an Esterase Locus

Abstract
A significant statistical correlation between larval habitat difference (oak treehole vs. beech treehole) and gene-frequency distribution at an esterase locus for the mosquito A. triseriatus is described. The usual problems of linkage and migration encountered in trying to establish the validity of such a correlation are minimized by the ecology of this species.
