Abstract
A case of lateral cervical cyst caused respiratory distress in a newborn infant. Radiographs showed a large air-conditioned cyst in the left retropharyngeal space which on aspiration was found to contain pus. After excision, the postoperative course was uneventful. There have been only two previous reports of lateral cervical cyst causing respiratory distress in the newborn period. Keywords
