Abstract
By considering the not as yet demonstrated piezomagnetoelectric (PME) effect as a magnetic field induced piezoelectric effect, an experiment is described, attempting at exciting electrically a LiCoPO4 crystal at 4.2 K (i.e., below its Néel temperature; magnetic point group mmm') as a piezoelectric oscillator in a DC magnetic field of 10 kOe. No resonance was, however, detectable between 10 kHz and 13 MHz within the limits of experimental sensitivity. Keywords
