Abstract
The x-ray emission and absorption spectra of aluminum are examined in the light of the many-electron theory of Mahan threshold anomalies. The emission, emission, satellite emission, and absorption spectra exhibit threshold shapes which cannot all be consistently explained using the present form of the theory.
