Abstract
Acceptance of the date limits A.D. 43 to 410 for Roman Britain has hidden the fact that much greater changes took place within the period called ‘Roman Britain’ than at either the beginning or the end. By calling for an acceptance of the archaeological record at face value, rather than allowing it to be manipulated to fit the historical record, this paper seeks to open up the question for further discussion. Keywords
