Abstract
A peculiar type of radiculomyelitis appeared during the 1970 acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis (AHC) outbreak in Senegal and ceased with its decline. Most patients already had high titers of neutralizing antibody to AHC virus when neurological signs and symptoms appeared, hence a significant antibody rise was found only in about 10% of paired sera collected from cases of radiculomyelitis. Consequently, the motor paralysis observed in Senegal in 1970 was probably due to enterovirus 70 infection. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
