A General Spectrochemical Method for Traces of Lead in Iron and Nickel Base Alloys

Abstract
A general spectrochemical method for determining trace amounts of lead in a variety of iron- and nickel-base alloys is presented The lead is concentrated by co-precipitation with strontium as sulfate The internal standaid, bismuth sulfate, is added to the dried precipitate The mixture is excited using the dc arc. The coefficient of variation at the 4 ppm level is 14%, and 13% at 40 ppm
