Analysis of Water Temperature Variations in Large River

Abstract
The seasonal variations in daily mean river water temperatures and daily mean dry bulb temperatures are adequately represented by harmonics with a periodicity of 1 yr. Harmonics with a frequency higher than 1 cycle per yr contribute very little toward the seasonal variations. For the particular situation investigated, nonseasonal variations in the daily mean water temperatures for any given day can be obtained, as a linear combination of the nonseasonal variations in the daily mean dry bulb temperatures, for that day and the preceding 2 days.
