Abstract
By constructing a simplified physical model, the geometrical relationships that exist in an unfinished 2-bar warp-knitted fabric are determined. Hence, a method for calculating the run-in from the course–wale spacing of a fabric in the loom state and the denier of the yarn is deduced. It is further shown how to calculate the run-in for the different geometry of relaxed fabrics. Keywords
