Abstract
A study of the performance characteristics of optical fibre Fabry-Perot cavities connected with lead fibres is reported. It has been found that the Fresnel reflections from the ends of the lead fibres produce a large spurious phase signal in the output of the Fabry-Perot cavity. Measures to reduce this type of phase noise are investigated through theoretical analysis, computer simulation and experimental verification. Keywords
