The presence of four common themes in group psychotherapy with older adults was demonstrated across four sets of selected journal articles concerning specific modes of geriatric group therapy. The four common therapeutic themes, included: social interaction, orientation of group participants to reality, the life review process, and remotivation. The specific modalities of geriatric group psychotherapy, included: resocialization, reality orientation, reminiscence, and remotivation. The target population across all four sets of treatment data, included older adult nursing homes residents or residents of homes for the aged.
