Abstract
Two inbred strains of mice and their F1 and F2 generations were given 15 daily hoarding trials. 1/2 of the Ss were immersed in room temperature water for 10 sec. 15-20 min. before each trial. A genetic analysis revealed strain differences, significant additive variation, and a moderate degree of heritability, and suggested that more than 2 gene factors influence hoarding. Limited support for an association between fear or emotionality and hoarding behavior was found. Genotype-treatment interactions were also observed. Keywords
