Abstract
Data from the reaction have been used to determine the cross section for the reaction by extrapolation to the pion pole. The reaction is dominated by and production. The cross section is well below the -wave unitarity limit in the (threshold) region. We discuss implications for the SU(3) scalar meson nonet and for phase-shift analyses.
