Abstract
The standard expressions for non-radiative transition probabilities in the various limiting cases are discussed. A weakness in the derivation of these results lies in the neglect of dispersion in the Molecular Crystal Model (M.C.M.). We present expressions for the transition probability WT(Δ) taking finite but small dispersion into account. Also investigated is the validity of an energy gap law in the single configurational coordinate model if the upper curve frequency ω1 is considerably less than the ground curve frequency ω0 and the coupling strength is weak. Keywords
