MALIGNANT THYMOMA IN A CASE OF MYASTHENIA GRAVIS

Abstract
A 21 yr. old white [image] soldier with symptoms of 1 year''s duration was found to have an upper mediastinal tumor and the symptoms of myasthenia gravis. Diagnosis of a thymic tumor was confirmed at operation and autopsy. Gross and microscopic examination indicated this to be a relatively rare case of malignancy of the thymus. The patient''s symptoms were relieved and life made more bearable by the admn. of 1 ml. of 1-2000 prostig-mine methylsulfate.
