Abstract
A diet previously described for rearingPieris brassicae(L.) was found to be very successful for rearingMamestra brassicae(L.). Less than 5 per cent. of the pupae that formed entered diapause. The larvae can be much more quickly counted, examined and looked after when kept on the diet than when kept on cabbage leaves. Keywords
