Abstract
Personal advertisements from a metropolitan newspaper were analyzed for content and amount of self-disclosure. Men and women disclosed information at the same rate. They also stipulated physical attractiveness, athleticism, and the desire for companionship equally often. Women, however, stipulated a desire for the partner's financial security and for marriage significantly more frequently than men.Keywords
