Abstract
The sedimentation behavior, patterns on starch gel electrophoresis, amino acid compositions, and peptide maps following tryptic digestion of dog heart and skeletal actin preparations have been compared. The results from all methods failed to demonistrate differences between the actin preparations, suggesting a very high degree of similarity, if not identity, between these contractile proteins from heart and skeletal muscle. Keywords
