Frequency Dependence ofT1forHe3in SolidHe4

Abstract
Measurements are reported of T1(ω) for He3 impurity in solid He4 at molar volume 21 cm3 and temperature 0.6 K. Data for fractional impurity concentrations x3 of 1.0×103, 0.5×103, and 0.25×103 show striking anomalies at about 1.3 and 2.6 MHz, superimposed on a background obeying x3T1=1.3×102 exp(ω7.4×106) sec. A theory is proposed which fits this background and yields a value for the He3-He4 tunneling frequency of about 1 MHz. The anomalies are not fully explained.
