Abstract
A method of improving the response time of a coaxial shunt is described. The faster response time is achieved by including within the measuring tube a compensating pickup loop. The measuring tube is formed by winding together several layers of resistance foil. An exact and two approximate formulas for calculation of the degree of compensation are given. The typical shunt described has a rise time of 9 nsec, a similar uncompensated shunt a rise time of 125 nsec. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
