Adenocarcinoma of a Female Urethral Diverticulum: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

Abstract
A case of adenocarcinoma within a human female urethral diverticulum is presented [with histologic evaluation]. The literature is reviewed and the data are compiled on the 12 known cases. Although the numbers are few and any conclusions are tentative an analysis indicates that when the tumor appears localized to the diverticulum, local excision alone is adequate and vigilant surveillance for any recurrences should be pursued.
