Abstract

The walnut aphid, Chromaphis juglandicola, was very destructive over much of the walnut-producing section of northern California. Nicotine dust is very effective against this insect, but if applications are poorly timed, there is danger of upsetting the natural balance, which can result in more serious damage than had the dusts not been applied.
