Abstract
This paper presents an interactive computer graphical method for locating a noxious facility that has nuisance costs which vary with the direction as well as with the distance from the facility. The objective is to minimize the maximum cost incurred within several polygonal, possibly non-convex, regions. The directionally dependent cost functions are based on the asymmetric distance functions of Drezner and Wesolowsky. The maximin location problem with rectilinear, Euclidean, or ℓp-distances can be formulated as a special case of this minimax problem. Keywords
