Abstract
Only two cavernicolous talitrids were known from the entire world. A third species, belonging to a new genus, discovered in lava caves of the island of La Palma (Canary Islands) is described herein. Cave adaptations consist of lack of body pigments, small and partly depigmented eyes, and great elongation of the appendages. This amphipod is the fifth terrestrial troglobite described from La Palma; twelve other obligatory cavernicoles, partly undescribed, are also known from the island. Keywords
