Abstract
The location of the nuchal organ in embryonic and neontal individuals of Daphnia is a useful characteristic for distinguishing the 2 subgenera, Ctenodaphnia and Daphnia. In Ctenodaphnia, the organ is located anterior to the insertion of the 2nd muscle of the antennae at the level of the eye in the subgenus Daphnia, it is located at the posterior insertion of the 3rd muscle of the antennae dorsal to the heart. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
