Localization of nonpalpable breast lesions: technical aspects and analysis of 80 cases

Abstract
The results of a 5 yr experience with percutaneous localization of nonpalpable breast lesions are presented. Of the 80 localizations performed, the lesion was successfully excised in 90% of cases. The causes for failure are analyzed. An accurate method for needle placement including an approach to every lesion parallel to the chest wall and the use of prelocalization mammograms with radiopaque markers is detailed.
