Abstract
"A theory of form perception in the peripheral retina, based upon the statistical theory of neurophysiological activity in the visual primary projection system, has been presented...Data drawn from various sources have been examined and interpreted as evidence for the theoretical proposals. These data include qualitative aspects of peripheral form perception, effects of stimulus-object size and exposure time, and peripheral "fixation blindness." An experiment designed to test some predictions of this theory is described briefly.".Keywords
