Abstract
The use of various types of platinum electrodes in the determination of the apparent oxidation-reduction potentials of synthetic media cultures of bacteria yields inherent variations. These variations can be circumvented to a certain extent by agitating the culture, controlling the oxygen tension, or by adding known oxidation-reduction systems to the medium to act as a mediator between the bacterial systems and the inert electrodes. Escherichia coli was used as a test organism. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
