Abstract
M. tuberculosis was able to utilize for growth only glycerol, glucose, and possibly maltose, out of the 24 carbohydrates and polyhydric alcohols employed as sources of C. Growth occurred in the following decreasing rate order: glycerol > glucose > maltose. Glycerol also supported growth in a wider range of concns. than either glucose or maltose. Keywords
