Abstract
This paper examines the use and significance of information and communications technologies in government. The notion of ‘Information Polity’ is unpacked. Five main related themes are addressed. These are: the adaption, diffusion and application of ICT's in government; information as a factor of production; government as an information services provider; information and the labour process in government; and information as a strategic resource.Keywords
