Abstract
A heterodyne Michelson interferometer‐type laser probe has been designed and constructed. The probe is used to measure subangstrom continuous ultrasonic displacements from rough surfaces. The probe optical and electronic design ensure optimal use of the available laser intensity, immunity from ambient vibrations, and ease of calibration. Keywords
