THE CONSTITUENTS IN NORMAL URINE PRODUCING THE HYPERGLYCEMIA PREVIOUSLY ATTRIBUTED TO PROLAN*

Abstract
Hyperglycemia was produced in rabbits by injection of urine from adult and infant human males, uric and hip-puric acids, crude prolan preparation; it was not produced by purified prolan preparation. It was not produced in pseudopregnant rabbits, in rabbits which had received f ollicular hormone, in rabbits deprived of adrenal medulla. Removal of thoracolumbar sympathetic innervation does not prevent its occurrence.
