Abstract
Thiopental sodium-induced sleeping time was measured as a parameter for the determination of the effectiveness of antihepatotoxic substances on liver damage induced by CCl4. New sesquiterpenoid furanogermanone isolated from the hexane extractive of Zedoariae Rhizoma prevented the prolongation of the sleeping time in mice caused by the administration of CCl4 and the increase in serum GOT [glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase], GPT [glutamic pyruvic transaminase] and LDH [lactate dehydrogenase] levels. Keywords
