Abstract
While collecting acanthocotylid monogeneans for various investigations (Kearn, 1967; Lyons, 1972; Macdonald, 1974) Mr J. E. Green of the Laboratory of the M.B.A. at Plymouth has very occasionally found specimens of what each of these authors has suspected may be a new species. In July 1978 nine more living worms were collected, the material was indeed found to require the erection of a new species and we propose to call the parasite Acanthocotyle greeni. Keywords
