Abstract
We show that the truncation to the massless supermultiplet of the gauged SO(8) supergravity theory obtained by spontaneous compactification of eleven-dimensional supergravity on the round seven-sphere yields consistent linearized supersymmetry transformation rules in four dimensions. They coincide with the linearized transformation rules of the de Wit-Nicolai theory.
