Rate of Transovarial Passage of Sowthistle Yellow Vein Virus in Selected Subclones of the Aphid Hyperomyzus lactucae12

Abstract
Three successive selections of subclones of an aphid Hyperomyzus lactucae (L.) in each of which transovarial passage of sowthistle yellow vein virus (SYVV) occurred, failed to affect the rate of transovarial passage of the virus. Neither the number of apterae transovarially passing SYVV nor the number of infective progeny was altered.
