Abstract
X-ray transitions in Ne excited by impact of 1.4 MeV/amu Ar12+, Xe24+ and Pb40+ have been studied using a high-resolution crystal spectrometer (Johannson type). The prevailing transitions in the satellite and hypersatellite spectra of Ne are assigned to few-electron systems. For Ar12+ impact the spectra consist mainly of lithium- and helium-like transitions; for the heavier projectiles (Xe24+) helium- and hydrogen-like transitions dominate. Keywords
