The Guided Study: Self-Directed Learning for Nurses

Abstract
Registered nurses returning to college need flexible options that meet their learning needs while capitalizing on their educational strengths. The Guided Study design, developed at Saint Xavier College, provides a useful model that other nursing education programs might consider for their RN students. This article will describe the rationale for the Guided Study and how it is implemented and evaluated.
