Abstract
The author presents a simple method for calculating discrete spectra of quasibound states of three charged particles. The classical theory, designed primarily for describing the highly correlated motion in the near-threshold continuum, has been adapted to treat multiply excited discrete states, making use of a first-order perturbative method. Bohr-Sommerfeld theory has been employed in quantising both rotational and vibrational modes of three-particle systems, and the spectra of autoionising states have been thus evaluated for a number of ordinary and exotic atoms. Keywords
