Abstract
Spectrophotometric detn. of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid in aqueous and ether solns. can be made on solns. containing 0.5-300 [gamma]/ml. The extinction coeff., k, for the acid in water is 9 at 2835 A and 40.6 at 2300 A, and is 9 for the acid in di-1 Io" ethyl ether at 2845 A, if in the formula k =[long dash]logic 7 , c is CX Ax expressed in mg./ml. and x in cm. The use of a blank permits measurement on solns. containing other compounds which absorb in the u.-v. Aqueous solns. of the acid may be concentrated by adjusting the reaction to pH 3-4 and extracting with several portions of diethyl ether. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
