Abstract
The coherent-state representation is used to discuss the production of isovector pions. Techniques are developed for constructing states of definite isotopic spin and parity, and a variety of models are discussed. Particular attention is paid to correlations between charged and neutral pions which appear to play an important role in the understanding of the underlying dynamics.
