Smoking and Cancer

Abstract
Smoking is the single largest identified cause of cancer mortality in the United States. In particular, cigarette smoking has been identified as a major cause of cancers of the lung, larynx, oral cavity, and esophagus and as a contributory factor in cancers of the bladder, kidney, and pancreas. The data supporting those and other conclusions about tobacco use are reviewed.
