Abstract
Single small of ACTH produce what appears to be a specific reaction: a rise in the adrenal nonprotein sulfhydryl in 3 hrs. Larger doses or prolonged treatment with ACTH produce a drop in nonprotein sulfhydryl which is not specific, for comparable changes also occur in liver and muscle tissue. The depletion is not restored in any of these tissues within 5 days following the end of prolonged ACTH admn. Keywords
