Abstract
BURKITT'S lymphoma is suspected of having a viral origin because of its geographic distribution and time-space clustering1 , 2 although plasmodial infection appears to be an important cofactor.3 , 4 Identification of patients in the Western Hemisphere with clinical and pathological features indistinguishable from African Burkitt's tumor is of particular interest since such cases provide an opportunity to investigate etiologic factors other than malaria that might be common to African, as well as non-African, patients. In the two children from northwestern Virginia living only three houses apart, who are described below, Burkitt's lymphomas developed at the same time.Case ReportsCase 1.
