Abstract
SYNOPSIS: The mother of a male infant with proven congenital rubella has bilateral cataracts and dermatoglyphic abnormalities. She has always been regarded as a victim of congenital rubella and no other cause for her cataract formation is identifiable. The mother has a high titre of rubella‐virus haemagglutination‐inhibition antibody and her infant had rubella viuria. The significance of these findings is discussed. Keywords
