Abstract
Tunable laser pulses of 300 fsec duration at a repetition rate of 82 MHz are generated by synchronously pumping a dye laser with pulses of a mode-locked Nd:YAG laser compressed down to 4 psec. The tuning range lies between 1.25 and 1.35 μm and the maximum peak power is 2.8 kW. The formation of a second, counter propagating laser pulse is observed and has successfully been suppressed by optical biasing. Keywords
