Abstract
The purpose of this Letter is to report the calculation of the relativistic energy bands and Fermi surfaces of the double hexagonal close-packed light rare-earth elements lanthanum, neodymium, and praseodymium. The relationship of the Fermi surface to the ordering of magnetic moments in Nd and Pr and to the occurrence of the double hexagonal close-packed crystal structure is then discussed. Keywords
