Abstract
Botulinum A exotoxin, a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, is now being used by cosmetically oriented specialists for treatment of a large variety of movement associated wrinkles on the face and neck. This form of temporary chemical denervation compliments the cosmetic practitioner’s armamentarium alongside resurfacing and tissue augmentation. Additionally, the use of Botulinum toxin to block sympathetic innervation of eccrine sweat glands is proving a valuable treatment of hyperhidrosis of the axillae, palms and soles. Keywords
