Abstract
The behaviour of argon hollow atoms, travelling at low velocity inside a solid target, has been studied. The filling of the K shell by the electrons of the solid screening the ions, through radiative electron capture, or co-operative electron transition, has been observed. These transitions have been found to be in competition with spontaneous decay. Keywords
