Abstract
Summary: Nalidixic acid may cause severe acidosis and we report a fatal case of lactic acidosis associated with nalidixic acid therapy. Studies in normal volunteers showed drug related impairment of lactate metabolism. We question whether the drug should be used in patients who may accumulate the drug or be predisposed to lactic acidosis. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
